"Charlie"

#5 GSP in Canada All Breed Points - 2002

#2 GSP in Canada Breed points - 2002

Only shown 5.5 months in 2002!

Sire of Canadian, American and Australian Champions & Field titled Dogs!

Breeder: Owner

Owners: Heather & Joanna Brennan, Nuthatch

In December of 2001, Charlie took a trip to Mexico City with handler friend Drobel Rojas to attend his first FCI international shows. In those four days, he earned his Mexican, FCI International, and Latin American championships. He went Winners Dog and Reserve Best of Breed every day. He was rated Excellent by all four judges. All of this a month prior to his third birthday. He also has points towards his American championship.

Charlie became our first homebred GSP Champion, finishing under Annie Rogers Clark in March, 2000. He was BW at the Ontario All Pointing Breed Specialty in 1999 and Best Puppy in Specialty at the same show and also has group placements. In 2000, Charlie also sired his first litter. It was with Ch Ersehnen By Design (Chanel). We kept Emily (Ch Nuthatch's At Last) and were so pleased with the litter overall that it was repeated in 2001 giving us Mr Big (Nuthatch's Witness). Also, from the second litter, his son Taz (Can Ch Nuthatch's Taz It Is FDJ) has been competing in hunt tests and finished his FDJ at 9 months of age. He took his first show points on a booster (supported entry) weekend. Taz also took Best Field Dog In Specialty at the Ontario All Pointing Breed Specialty at 11 months of age in 2002. His littermate, Mr Big (Nuthatch's Witness) took Best Puppy In Breed at the same specialty and Charlie took Best Stud Dog In Multi-Breed Specialty. Charlie is the sire of both field and show titled dogs.

A multi-group placer and group winner in Canada and Mexico, Charlie is maturing into a very impressive fellow and will probably be seen in the ring occasionally at specialties and some US shows. He has begun earning points towards his American championship and needs only majors to finish at this point. He has multiple Best of Breeds from the classes in the USA. The best thing about Charlie though is not his good looks...it's his temperament. I have never had an easier dog to live with and his offspring seem to inherit that general tendency to be easy-going.

We have recently sent some of Charlie's frozen semen to Kruz Kennels in Australia. To see pictures of Charlie's first Australian litter (out of Tahnee, Austr Ch Kruz Klaim To Fame) born on July 7, 2004 - click here.

Charlie Puppies

Charlie is OFA good (hips), CERF clear (eyes), CD certified clear (Optigen) and OFA cardiac clear.

Charlie has been producing some very nice puppies (via exported semen) in Australia as well as North America. To see some baby pics of his Aussie babies:

Charlie returns to the ring as a Veteran after many years absence and has a ball, winning the Veteran Sweepstakes and the Veteran Dog Class at the 2006 Canadian National Specialty! The pictures below were taken of him in the ring that day. His daughter True, Nuthatch's The Princess Bride, went Winners Bitch as well.

Charlie is shown below at a few months shy of 10 years of age, going Best in Veteran Sweepstakes and Best Veteran in Specialty at the Canadian Nationals.
